Are y’all carrying around your green cards if you are a permanent resident? Especially if you are not-white. I’m Indian (the South Asian kind).

It’s apparently a pain to replace the card if you lose it. In the past, in NYC, especially, a lot of people would just carry a copy of it. The city is filled with tourists and visa holders so lots of non-US Citizens. And generally NYC was a sanctuary city. However things are changing.

Just wondering how y’all dealing with this?

Edit: I’m Indian origin but I’m a Canadian national and I have a Canadian/American accent. So if you heard me speak, you’d think I were American.
