Hi everyone! I’ve been a part-time tutor since high school. Recently, I’ve been having more clients due to some good reviews. My current rate is $35 which I thought was generous given the minimum wage of $16. However, my friends say I’m ripping myself off because I go to an Ivy League school.

I feel uncomfortable charging more since I haven’t graduated yet and my degrees aren’t even in education (psych and stats). Then again, I hear my peers are charging $100 an hour and I need money as a college student!

Obviously I won’t raise rates on my existing clients, but I can’t help but think I’m scamming myself. So parents of NYC, how much would you pay for a tutor with my background? Is $50/hr reasonable? The subjects I tutor are:
