Unprovoked assault near Lincoln Center. Is it worth reporting to NYPD? Any cameras in the area?

Earlier today, my husband, his brother, and I were crossing the street at Broadway and W 64th St near Lincoln Center. A man crossing from the opposite side asked us if we knew how to get to 200-something St. I shook my head and continued walking. My husband replied that he didn’t know. The man then raised his voice and asked again if we were sure. My husband repeated that he didn’t know. The man began following us in the crosswalk and said, “Then look it up on your phone. I’m just trying to get home.” We continued walking, and my husband said, “We’re in a rush right now.” At that point, the man suddenly punched my husband in the face and yelled a racial slur. There were pedestrians nearby and cars stopped at the red light. We walked away immediately, and the man fled in the opposite direction as another couple approached us.

My husband now has visible bruising and swelling on his face and is in pain.

My questions: – Is it worth reporting something like this to the NYPD? – Are there surveillance cameras around Broadway/W 64th St or Lincoln Center that might capture the incident? – Has anyone had experience reporting a similar unprovoked assault in this area?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
