This doubles as question and rant, so hopefully not a rule-breaking post. I moved here this past spring and I’m bummed by how competitive this city is for romance. I feel like I am so out of the dating game and practically invisible to women.
I moved here straight from undergrad, so I’m only 22. So I’m the youngest out of the working young professional population. I’m on a career path, but not making good money just yet. I’m confident, but not really in a captivating or enigmatic way. I’m 5’6″, which apparently isn’t great idk
I miss my sleepy pacific northwest hometown. Over there, if you were gainfully employed and a good hang, you could be so relaxed about this stuff. It was just so easy over there.
I asked a friend if I could check her Hinge to see how to improve my profile, and it was like wall-to-wall highly paid handsome Cornell grads who are also cracked at tennis. Or people with a similar profile to that lol. Is this the typical dude experience in NYC until father time and our careers pay their dividends? I’m not attempting to be cynical, but I haven’t gone on a single date in this city so far and I don’t get the sense that I’m a crowd pleaser.
