I’ve been apartment hunting for three months and I’m losing my mind. I’m literally willing to drop up to 15k a month and somehow still can’t find anything decent. StreetEasy has become this weird wasteland where half the listings are fake, a quarter are already rented but still up for some reason, and the rest have glaring issues that don’t justify a 5 figure rent.
Like what kind of dystopian housing market are we living in. The brokers act like they’re doing you a favor just by showing you a place that’s 800 square feet for 12k a month with a kitchen the size of a phone booth. I’ve got excellent credit, stable income, references, and I’m ready to sign immediately but apparently that’s not enough anymore. Anyone else dealing with this insanity or am I just cursed.
I am literally looking for a downtown 2 bed 2 bath with a washer dryer dishwasher and a kitchen that isn’t an after thought. Is that too much to ask?
