Background, I live in the south… “Texas” to be exact if you want to even consider that the south…
I honestly don’t get all the hate NYC gets. People love to say it’s full of rude, miserable people, dirty streets but my experience has been the complete opposite. Since I’ve been here, I’ve met nothing but kind, helpful people. Even the subway has been very easy, convenient, and honestly part of the experience that makes the city feel alive. NYC has so much energy and culture. The diversity is such a positive for me. I love to see different people walking together from different cultures. I know no city is perfect, but the way people talk about New York (at least where I come from) compared to what I’ve actually experienced feels completely disconnected from reality. Maybe people judge it without really spending time here, but for me, NYC has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. If it wasn’t so expensive to live here, I would move on a heartbeat. (I guess a con of nyc…).
I just wonder why other places have such a negative stigma on NYC…
