I live in an 8-unit brownstone so everyone in my building knows each other and sees each other regularly. Have lived kn the apartment for over 3 years and noise from upstairs has never been an issue. Over the last few weeks, however, we started hearing noises which sound like an unstable bed moving back and forth and hitting the floor as well as other sounds that make it obvious what our upstairs neighbors are doing. It wouldn’t be an issue but it happens nearly every night at around 11pm which is when I and my partner are trying to sleep and the noises have become very disruptive. I obviously can’t say anything to them because I can’t think of anything more awkward or embarrassing than having my own neighbor tell me they can hear me having sex. I also feel like since the building is mostly single people in one bedrooms, and we all know each other, if I said anything to the landlord it would be obvious who it was about. Is this something I need to just suck it up about with and accept as part of apartment living?
