I’m 34, but even when I was a teen there was a very strong sense, still, of neighborhood pride. I grew up in Brooklyn – bay ridge. To myself and my peers, Bay Ridge was our world, our turf.

And this mindset was even stronger among people I knew from SI, at the time.

But it seems like the idea is sort of fading away, although I could be wrong.
