Do you think many people tend to underestimate how big NYCs urban core is even outside the 5 boroughs?

Specially if you mostly stay near your neighborhood and don’t have to move through most of the city.

Like even if you go west of the city, there’s still a lot of urban areas like the entirety of Hudson county NJ which includes Jersey city and Hoboken. Also farther west in Newark , Passaic , Clifton, Elizabeth and even all the way to Patterson . A lot of these are more denser and more urban than many major US cities not named NYC or SF.

Then farther north you still have Yonkers , Mt Vernon and New Rochelle. And also further east is not obvious where Queens and somewhere like Hempstead start.
