I realize NYC has an endemic bad driver problem owing to road rage, bad public policy, general assholery, etc. But this particular thing both enrages and baffles me. You’re already stopped at the red light and can’t cross the intersection until it turns green. What exactly is the point of slowly inching into the crosswalk as pedestrians are trying to cross? Are you intentionally trying to intimidate people? So impatient that you need that half-second head start? Just kind of a dumbass? If you’re one of these people, speak up! I genuinely want to know what’s going through your head.
