Hi, my name is Will Peischel.

I’m a writer with New York Magazine. I’m writing a piece for our site about how the consequences of climate change could be concerning for New Yorkers whose parents have retired to Florida. Tens of thousands of New York residents move to the Sunshine State each year, many of them to enjoy their golden years.

But as the effects of climate change intensify, so do the hurricanes that cut through Florida. As Hurricane Milton leaves immense damage in its wake, I’d be interested in hearing how/if the future of climate change in the state factors into conversations between folks and their parents.
