I (25M) work in Manhattan and I recently moved out of my apartment there to move back in with my parents. I was already scraping by financially when my roommate decided to bail on me to live with his GF. Instead of searching for a new roommate or apartment, I made the financially responsible decision to move back in with my parents. They live 15 miles from the city in a suburban part of NJ. I’m now doing much better financially, and I’m still able to easily commute by train to the city.
However, my big concern is that this will be a major red flag or dealbreaker to women. I have a good relationship with my parents, but I definitely couldn’t bring a woman home if I wasn’t already in a committed relationship with her. I already struggle enough with dating, and I’m prepared to move back out of it looks like this will be a big problem.
Am I making too big a deal out of this or are my concerns legitimate? What do you guys think?
