How did you do on the Great Saunter (2025)?

This was the first time for me and my wife. She made it to 91st St on the East side and tapped out after dinner at Chez Nicks.

I started at 7:00am sharp and was able to finish at 12:10am. I am far short of being athletic, so it was slow and steady all day with frequent stops.

Ended with 78k steps and 38 miles walked for the day. The hills near Fort Tryon and the long lonely stretch along the shore in Harlem were the toughest parts for us. Plus the heat didn’t help. The downpour at 10:30 soaked my shoes and socks, so I sloshed the last few hours back to Frances Tavern. I would do it all again in a heart beat.

How did you do and what was the hardest part?

Congrats to everyone that completed or attempted the Great Saunter. You are a success either way!
