I just heard that my 84-year-old uncle was randomly assaulted in NYC in October or November. He later died from his injuries. Apparently, the police only contacted my other very elderly relatives. They cannot provide me with any more information. For example, they are hazy on the date and location, and they don’t have the contact information of whoever in the police contacted them.

Where do I start to find out more? I’m on the west coast.
