I’ve been living in my building for over 7 years. I WFH, I don’t talk to anyone but when I do I am polite but I keep to myself. I never play Loud music and I try to be as quiet as possible as this just how I enjoy being. For most of the years I never had an issue until 2022 I had a noise issue with a neighbor upstairs that was actually due to a pipe and not the neighbors so that was that.
Recently there has been a lot of crashing and banging noise coming from upstairs in the past I did try to talk to the neighbor and she just ignored me. So I contacted management to handle this as the upstairs neighbor did want to interact with me and I did want to harass anyone. Management sent a letter and requested the noise to stop, the noise still did not stop. it’s been over 2 months trying to get management to do anything besides just send a letter. So I filled a complicant to 311 looks like they did show up and my neighbor came downstairs after they left.
Yelling lies and random statements such as “you have something against my kids” , ” go ahead and keep reporting me”.
I simply told her I pay rent as well and I have the right to enjoy my apartment. Another neighbor heard the yelling and came out and looks like they knew each other and greeted her, another person came outside and started claiming that they never met before and never seen me in the building and that she should report me to management, keep in mind i always see this person around but never spoke to them so maybe. That’s why they don’t know me.
I’m not concerned about her reporting me to management because I am on the lease and due in fact live here. My bigger concern is that it seems I have made enemies from my floor neighbors and I wonder if I should take any precautions?
If yes please provide some suggestions.
Edit: thank you everyone for your thoughts!
Short term: im just going to deal with it and let things play out on their own.
Long term: I will be looking for a new place to call home!
