Serious question. Why do we all gaslight ourselves into thinking this is acceptable? I’m genuinely convinced Satan himself engineered the logistics from Manhattan to the airports (EWR/JFK). And before you say woah woah what about LGA? This is a rant specific to NYCs “International” airports.
For a “world-class city,” the options are seemingly designed by a total lunatic. You basically have two choices
Pay $100+ for an Uber just to sit in a parking lot on the Van Wyck/Turnpike
Drag your luggage through the bowels of Penn Station, fight for a spot on the LIRR, and transfer to a monorail that costs extra for some reason just to go 10mph.
London has the Heathrow Express. Tokyo has the Narita Express. We have… broken escalators and a humid platform at Jamaica. And don’t get me started on Newark. “It’s actually easier” yeah sure bud, until NJ Transit decides to just stop existing for 45 minutes in a tunnel.
