For weeks, I wouldn’t get hot water from around 9-11 pm, so I’d end up showering late and going to bed late. Then suddenly when the temp here in nyc got really cold again this week, I didn’t get any hot water at all. At best, it was lukewarm, and when I was trying to shower every night, I’d come out shivering cuz the water was so cold. I asked the landlord to see if this could be fixed, and they said “this is not an issue in your apartment or the building at all”. I knew they weren’t gonna fix it so I put in a 311 complaint. Had an inspection done by NYC housing and they put in a violation for the water temp.

Today, my landlord texts me and is telling me to never put in a 311 complaint again. Did I do anything wrong? Idk what to say to her 😅 TBF, I don’t want her to raise the rent on me either by doing this
