Just picked up my MIL from an international flight. Usually airport staff do not let anyone wait in the arrival area near the doors.

But now it looks like it’s taken over by some questionable people and the staff seemingly cannot stop them. There’s 3 airport staff directing people to airtram and taxis and right behind them about 6-8 thug like people in plain clothes directing people out of the line. They all seemed to work together with white airpods in their ears. Only once in the 30 minutes I waited there did airport staff mention that “these people are not taxis”. Meanwhile I saw plenty of people wearing airport security jackets and military camo that didn’t do anything. It was a bit scary but I had my little kids there so I couldn’t do anything. My guess is they’re operating some private taxi service but they could just as easily be trafficking. Why is the airport suddenly allowing this?
