Saturday evening in Brooklyn, I’m being bombarded with texts from my 5th Grade child’s school to help volunteer tomorrow, hand out devices on Sunday, so kids can be forced to sit in front of an iPad on Monday instead of going out sledding with friends on Monday. Why does the NYC school system have a problem with the occasional snow day? Is there something new in union’s contract about this?
