Shop NYC Top

It seems so strange to me that after hosting multiple World’s Fairs, NYC doesn’t have a yearly fair for residents to attend. When the state fair is 7+ hours away by car, why not set something up in Queens or Brooklyn you could get to by subway? I have to imagine it would do gangbusters every year. Has anything similar been tried in the past (other than the normal deluge of street fairs)?
