Have cops ever flirted with you while on duty? Would anything be done if you reported it?

I was alone on the 7 train platform at Jackson Heights going towards Manhattan at 11am yesterday.

I saw a cop eyeing me as he walked towards me and ignored it, he approached me and started asking questions about me: my tattoo, where I’m from, how long I’ve lived here, where I’m headed to, what I do for work, how long I’ve been working in x field, what I’m doing today, if I could teach him x sport (since I was playing x sport later that day), if I try new restaurants often, asking about my shoes, just trying to continue conversation, etc. I did engage in conversation because he’s a cop, thought he was asking me cop-related questions at first, and I get so nervous in these situations, but I was making eye contact with another cop across the tracks and another passenger (this is what I do when I get approached so I can make sure people are watching). I ALWAYS get too anxious to record or even memorize identifying features when I get approached. 😖

The cop asked if he could take me out to lunch, I told him no and I was married, and he responded in surprise asking me how old I was to be married (which was weird, bc he looked about mid40s at minimum… hopefully he should be going for women – when he’s off duty – that are old enough to be married). He said he had no idea I was married (I showed him my rings and said I don’t like showing them on the train obviously) and said good luck with marriage, that he’s sorry to hear that, and walked off. It then looked like the cop I was making eye contact with across the tracks was gesturing to ask how it went. I was disappointed and had thought the other cop would not allow something like that to happen, but guess not.

I feel stupid posting this lol but wanted to share in case someone has had something similar and would know if this is allowed? It felt so strange bc of the power dynamic of a cop in uniform and feeling like I had to answer his questions. I assume he must have done this to others and it felt so unprofessional. If I reported it, I doubt anything would even be done.
